Obituary for Anthony "Andy" J. Schock

Anthony “Andy” J. Schock, 88, of Attica, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

He was born July 27, 1931 in Tiffin, to the late William and Emma (Johnson) Schock. On August 16, 1958, he married Lucille Williams at the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, by his cousin the Rev. Benedict Ringholz, and they were married 61 years.

Survivors include, his wife, Lucille of Attica, Fr. Ronald Schock of Monroeville, Roger Schock of Fremont, Raymond (Sharon) Schock of Bloomville, Rebecca (Tom) Gies of Monroeville, Regina (Brian) Reamer of Tiffin, and Ruth (Patrick) Pifher of Attica, his grandchildren, Michael ,Mindy, Matthew, Adam, Mark, Jennifer, Ashley, Kady, Alexandria, Lily, and Lucas ,and great-grandchildren, Emellia, Pheona, Nicole, Bradly, Carter, Jensen and Vincent.

He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Clarence, Lena, Sr. Camillus, Veronica, Evelyn, Rita, Dan, Joan, Bill, and Ben.

Tony was a life-long, hardworking farmer, willing to do anything for anyone. He took pride in all he did, from milking cows, to working at Tiffin Manufacturing, plastering, working the fields, National Machinery in the winter, carpentry and cutting wood. He worked as a teenager at St. Francis Convent as a farmhand. He was a member of the Seneca Co. Farm Bureau and the Parents of Priest.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 2-7 pm. at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19 Bloomville, and Friday, October 25, 2019 from 9-10 a.m., at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2019, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, with Fr. Ron Schock and Fr. Nathan Bockrath officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery in Tiffin.

Anthony’s family would like to thank the church, community and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion over these past weeks.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, St Alphonsus Capital Campaign, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
