Carol A. Fruth

Carol A. Fruth, 80, of Fostoria, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at The Willows at Tiffin.

Carol was born in Metamora, Ohio on July 16, 1945, to the late Earl and Esther (Reis) Cruzen. She married Larry W. Fruth in Bascom, on August 14, 1966 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2018.

Survivors include her children, Glen (Rachel) Fruth of Fostoria, David (Terri Kirby) Fruth of Fostoria, Betty (Kevin) Upson of Chambersburg, PA, twelve grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fostoria where she was a in the choir, Sunday School Teacher and involved with their Women’s Guild. She was a 4-H adviser, Pleasant Grove Grange, and      H-L Young Farm Wives. Carol was a 1963 graduate of Metamora High School.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Lewis Cruzen and a sister, E. Luella Kabat.

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at Sand Ridge cemetery in Bascom.
