Edeltrud Wahl passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the age of 88.
Edeltrud was born on July 10,1932, in Ersingen, Germany, to Karl and Luzie (Kärcher) Vogele.
She married Ernst A. Wahl on November 28, 1953, at St. John’s UCC in Tiffin and they had 67 wonderful years together.
She is survived by her husband, Ernst, son, Michael (Andrea) Wahl of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Karin (Dave) Walker of Sylvania, OH; and a son, Thomas (Cheryl) Wahl of Tiffin.
She was an expert German cook, baker and Omie to 8 grandchildren, Devin, Dustin, Deanna, Dana Wahl and Danielle (Barry) Rabinovich of Colorado, Heather Walker of Grand Rapids, MI, Kalin (Josh) Emans, Sylvania and Sara (Zac) Felton of Tiffin and 4 great-grandchildren.
Edeltrud enjoyed her years working at the Ballreich Potato Chip factory. For more than 30 years, Ernst and Edeltrud looked forward to their annual trips back to Germany visiting family and friends, with numerous bus, boat and train trips throughout Europe. For her 65th wedding anniversary a renewal of her wedding vows took place with family in Cancun, Mexico. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edeltrud was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Luzie Vogele, sisters, Gerlinde Hottinger and Irmgart Steffen.
The family wants to give special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their devotion and thoughtful care.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Edeltrud’s life on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10 a.m., until the time of the service at noon with the Rev. Paul Stark officiating at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 North Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
