James Meador Obituary

James "Jim" Taylor Meador, 86, of Carey Ohio, passed away on March 29, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

Jim was born on November 2, 1936 to the late Creed & Odessa (Spangler) Meadows in Crab Orchard, West Virginia. He married Helen Ritzler on December 11, 1970 and she survives.

Jim is survived by seven children, Tom (Kim) Meador, Robin (John) Nungester, Paul Ritzler, Tammy (Kenny) Chundzinski, Shari (Tim) Lutz, Michelle (Scott) Beier and Deanna (Jesse) Blakley, twenty-three grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Jerry (Phyllis) Meadows and a sister, Sandy Hawkins.

Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie VanWelden, a brother, A.E. (Bud) Moye, three sisters, Betty McDowell, Mary Lou Rosendale and June Hampshire.

Jim loved driving semi, running heavy equipment, mechanicing and welding. He was a Jack Of All Trades. Not only was he hard working but he was also loving and kind. He never met a stranger, everyone became a friend.

There will be a celebration of Jim’s life on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Vanlue Park Pavilion from 1-6pm. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
