Janet Louise Wise

Janet Louise Wise, 78, of Republic, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Janet was born August 7, 1942, in Toledo, to the late Harold Sr. and Margaret (Lepouttre) Whipple. She married John E. Wise in Republic on January 28, 1961 and he survives in Republic.

Survivors include her son, Douglas (Brenda) Wise of Tiffin, a daughter, Tricia (Denny) Bowerman of Republic, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard (Lynn) Whipple of Huntington, IN and Harold (Betty) Whipple of Tiffin and a sister-in-law, Donna Whipple of Wolcottville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Whipple.

Janet worked at Pat & Eddies Restaurant in Republic. She also as a babysitter cared for many children and treated them with love and welcomed them as her own. Janet was a Girl Scout Leader a 4-H Leader and a CCD Teacher for many years. She was a 1960 graduate of Scipto-Republic High School.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiffin with the Rev. Matt Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at Seneca Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
