Joe R. Burks

Joe R. Burks, 68, of Bloomville, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at his residence.

Joe was born May 25, 1957 in Fremont, to the late Curtis and Virginia (Turpin) Burks. He married Anna (Sturgill) Burks on January 8, 1977 in Clintwood, Virginia and she survives in Bloomville.

Survivors include his wife, Anna, and daughter, Andrea Burks of Cleveland.

Joe was a member of River of Life Church of God in Fremont. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed working on cars, taking care of his big cat Yeti, and working on home projects in his garage.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Allen Burks, Jerry Burks, Jack Burks, Rick Burks, and Randy Burks.

There will be no funeral services held at this time. The family will be holding a celebration of life for Joe at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
