Linda Sue Kagy

With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Sue Kagy, who went to Heaven on July 12, 2026 at The Courtyard in Tiffin.

Linda was born on December 6, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Webb) Sievert. After moving to Ohio, Linda spent her childhood in Bloomville, where she resided all of her years. She was a 1959 graduate of Bloomville High School. After meeting as kids, she married Ronnie Kagy on January 28, 1961. They were married for over 63 years, until Ronnie’s death on May 9, 2024.

Linda and Ronnie went on to have three sons: Troy (Deb) and Scott (Laura) of Bloomville, and Doug (Tracey) of Lewis Center. They also had eight grandchildren: Falynne (Jim), Reid (Karlyn), Ethan (Katie), Taylor (Doug), Elijah, Katrina, Caroline, and Kyrie.  Twelve great-grandchildren (Owen, Emerson, Elliot, Kennedy, Xander, Raegan, Parker, Jayden, Knox, Bennett, Crew, and Nash) completed their family. Linda is also survived by her three sisters, who were her best friends: Beverly (Harold) Mortimer of Huron, Phyllis (Joe) Shook of Bloomville, and Cindy Leonhart of New Washington, along with a sister-in-law, Marvel Jean (Kagy) Riley of Naperville, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Tim Leonhart and Jim Riley.

While she attended beauty school and worked for Pepperidge Farms, Linda was a farm wife first and foremost, helping to run Kagy Farms. She was a member of the Bloomville Young Farm Wives and Bloomville United Church of Christ, and she also volunteered at the Bloomville Fire Department. Linda loved flowers and gardening, and she always loved having fresh flowers on her kitchen table. Once the Ohio temperature started to drop, she couldn’t wait to get to her second home in Bonita Springs, Florida. Most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids with juice boxes and fruit snacks. 

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 9:00-11:00 a.m., at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Tom Kagy officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.

Memorial contributions can be made to Bloomville United Church of Christ or The Courtyard of Tiffin, where Linda spent her last days. The family would like to thank the staff at The Courtyard for the loving care they provided.
