Lucia Lupica Obituary

Lucia Frances (Brown) Lupica passed peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony S. “Tony” Lupica; her son, Maurice Lupica; her parents, George and Carmella Brown; and her sister, Frances “Rosebud” Brown.  She is survived by her sister, Paula and her husband, Paul Huss; son, Nicholas, and his wife, Lauren Lupica; her daughter Loretta and her husband Richard Clair; and her son Thomas and his wife Shelley Lupica; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and fifteen step-great-grandchildren.

Lucia was born in Fostoria, Ohio on April 30, 1932. While attending and graduating from Bellevue High School, Bellevue, Ohio, she met Tony.  Lucia joined the WAC's; she unfortunately needed to leave the service as her mother was taken ill; Lucia took care of her mother, Carmella until her demise.

Lucia and Tony were married on June 8, 1957 and shared 59 wonderful anniversaries till his death in 2016.

After Tony’s graduation from medical school and residency, they moved to Tiffin, Ohio and adopted their four children. Lucia & Tony cared for both of Tony’s parents and her father, George Brown until their deaths and she also raised her two younger sisters.

Lucia was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She spent her entire life putting other’s needs before her own.  She and Tony were dedicated and actively involved with their parish, St. Mary’s, and to their Tiffin community and many, many charities, including Hospice.

She and Tony enjoyed life to the fullest by taking many family trips and continuing their travels after their children were grown.  Some of their very favorite activities they enjoyed were square dancing with the T-Square in Tiffin; attending National Square Dance Conventions and performing at many events like the Tiffin Heritage Festival and other events in Tiffin. They loved and supported the Ritz Theatre and loved taking part of trips offered by the Allen Eiry Center (Senior Center). Lucia enjoyed entertaining and hosting with Tony so many fabulous family reunions and office parties.

After Tony’s death, Lucia enjoyed spending time with family in Ohio, Key West and Gilbert, Arizona. When she could no longer travel, Lucia moved to Arizona to live with her son Nick and his wife, Lauren.
