Norma I. (Smailes) Little, 87, of Tiffin, passed away at 3:58 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2021.
She was born on July 5, 1933 in Liverpool, England to the late John and Gertrude (Holden) Smailes.
Norma is survived by three sons, Jeffrey T. (Vicky) Little of Republic, Bradley S. (Trina Depew) Little of Attica, and Bryan P. (Maria) Little of Findlay, five grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Samantha, Kayla, and Alexandra, and a great-grandson, Andrew. Norma is also survived by a brother, Brian Smailes of Liverpool, England, and a sister-in-law, Ina Smailes, also of Liverpool.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John R. Little, and two brothers, Arthur Smailes, and Charles Smailes.
Norma was a member of the Church of England and retired from Tiffin Metal. Her favorite flower was any variety of rose and her favorite drink was milk. She was a master gardener and enjoyed her flower garden and the view from her patio. Norma watched 50s westerns on TV and enjoyed listening to music every day as well as ballroom dancing.
Norma held onto her Liverpudlian accent for all 68 years that she was in the United States but most of all, Norma loved her family and her boys. She had an infectious laugh and enjoyed the occasional beer. She was loving and compassionate, but had no problem setting people straight when needed.
There will be no funeral services for Norma at this time. A celebration of Norma's life will be held at a later date. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice or the Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program.
