Patricia Ruth Curran, 91, died November 25, 2022 at Randall Residence in Tiffin, Ohio. Pat was born July 18, 1931 to the late Murl and Mildred (Bartlett) Brunson in Elyria, Ohio. She married Max Curran on July 15, 1949 in Grafton, Ohio and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Max and Pat had five children, Harvey (Mary Fahrenbruck) of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Dale (Roxanne Hammer) of Lillington, North Carolina, Nancy (Todd) Nord of Saginaw, Michigan, the late Beth (Brian) McCartan and a son, Tommy who died in infancy. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Al Riddle, by her brother, Gordon, by her infant granddaughter, Shannon and by her great grandson Ethan. She is survived by Gordon’s wife, Linda, grandchildren Mike (Katie) Nord, Kristie Schoonover, Dan (Katherine) McCartan, Marcus (Julia) Curran, Kate (Kevin) Shers, Hannah (Kyle) Schempp and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her duties as mother and homemaker, she did the books and answered the phone for Max’s work for Noba until they moved from Lodi, Ohio to Tiffin in 1965 and was always proud to be a member of the Noba family.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women, serving as treasurer and was part of the St. Paul’s apple dumpling team. She loved Cleveland baseball and Ohio State football and basketball. She was an accomplished cross stitcher and knitter and made over 200 Christmas stockings for family and friends. She was a great cook and baker; her melt in your mouth Christmas butterballs will never be forgotten.
Funeral services for Pat will be at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at Fairmont cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tiffin City Little League Baseball.
