Robert E. “Bob” Niedermier, 87, of Attica, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his residence.
Bob was born December 2, 1934, in New Washington, to the late Linus and Delores (Blust) Niedermier. He married Mary Ann Ruffing in Bellevue, on April 18, 1955 and she preceded him in death on June 18, 2017.
Survivors include two sons, Brad (Lori) Niedermier of Attica, Troy (Becky) Niedermier of Toledo, two daughters, Shelly (Tom) Daniel of Attica, and Val (Paul) Frankart of Republic, a son in-law, Steve Swander of Attica, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a sister, Laurena Van Eerten of New Washington.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tracy Swander in 1993, three brothers, Chuck, James and Ben Niedermier, two sisters, Lilah Rigdon, and Vivian Mortenson.
Bob worked as a steel worker and for the Seneca East Elementary building maintenance and custodial. He was a 1953 graduate of Buckeye Central High School, a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica and the Knights of Columbus, Father Anthony Tedis Council 3062. He was a little league coach and was loved by Seneca Huron school staff and their students. He also enjoyed his daily cocktail with his best friend, Don Smith. Bob was a strong supporter of many charities.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica with the Rev. Joseph P. Joseph officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, from 2-5 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville with a Christian wake service to be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow the services on Monday, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Food Pantry or to the Attica boys and girls summer baseball leagues.
