Rosie Dunlap Obituary

Rosie M. Dunlap, 96, of Bloomville, passed peacefully in her son's arms shortly after 1 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021.

She was born April 16, 1924 to Clarence Alfred and Mabel Marie(Schwab) Tilton. She graduated in 1943 from Attica High school, and on September 1, 1943 married
Verlin Charles Dunlap.  Rosie had a brother Carl Tilton and sister Julia Roberts all the afore mentioned proceeded Rosie's passing. Rosie has three children Larry (Linda) Dunlap, Diane (Tim) Brickner, and Dennis Dunlap, two grandchildren, Sean (Sandy) Sawyer and Tara (Emmet) Apolinario and six great-grandchildren.

Rosie worked at her father's lumber company in Attica. She and her husband owned and operated a soft serve ice cream and sandwich eatery in Fremont, Ohio and worked at a Fremont grocery store in the winter months, then later farmed with her husband.

She enjoyed many hobbies, gardening, canning, crafts, sewing, crocheting, entertaining, hosting dinner parties, collecting, holding garage sales, and most loved her times of prayer, devotions and Bible study especially with her husband Verlin. She was an up early, to bed late, hands always being productive at doing something, type of person, and enjoyed serving others.

Rosie was learning to fly shortly after she married Verlin (a pilot) and was doing spins and loops but being several months pregnant with her 1st child her flight instructor thought it best to stop.  Rosie was also a Cub Scout Den Mother, 4-H Advisor, member of Sycamore Lioness, Garden Club and Craft Club.

The late Janice Wickam, of Upper Sandusky (age 63 at her passing in 2019) a lifelong friend and a retired nurse was a treasured friend, confidante, blessing, and was a great help to Rosie and her caretaker son, she was greatly missed after her passing.

In honoring Rosie's wishes there will be no public services. Private family services were conducted by Plankton United Methodist Church Pastor Brad Smith and family friend Richard Verhoff of Sycamore.
