Russell B. Ellenberger, 90, of Bettsville, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at his residence in Bettsville.
Russell was born on November 23, 1930 in Sandusky County to the late Fred and Hilma (Mazey) Ellenberger. He married Patricia (Fox) Ellenberger in Tiffin on September 23, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2002.
Survivors include his children, Russell (Lisa) Ellenberger of Ft. Myers, FL, Jenny (Larry) Mears of Fremont, Vickie (Glen Burt) Schreiner of Tiffin, James (Debra) Ellenberger of Las Vegas, NV, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Esther Weyant of Burgoon.
Russell retired from Clyde Whirlpool in 1994 after 26 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Jackson-Burgoon High School. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, working with model airplanes and most of all going out to eat with friends and family.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Mary Ellenberger, a great-granddaughter, Selah Pearl Root and a sister, Marlene Lehman.
Funeral services for Russell will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be follow the services on Wednesday, at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort.
