Sarah L. Miller, age 70, formerly of Tiffin, Ohio passed away at her home at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on September 25, 1949 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Vincent and Rita (Schalk) Wurm.
Surviving are her son, Eric Miller of Columbus, three daughters, Lisa (Robert) Newberry of South Lyon, Michigan, Jennifer (John) Friesinger of Dayton, Ohio, and Melissa Miller (Aaron Shuman, her partner) of Eugene, Oregon and four grandchildren; Lillian Friesinger, Vincent Friesinger, Veronica Newberry, and Alison Newberry; two brothers; John Wurm and Thomas Wurm both of Tiffin, Ohio and a sister; Mary (Ronald) Wurm Schaar, of Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
Sarah was a graduate of Tiffin Calvert Catholic High School and then pursued a career in nursing; where she had worked at various hospitals including Willard (Mercy Health) Hospital, Tiffin Mercy Hospital, The Toledo Hospital and Miami Valley Hospital. She retired in 2016. Sarah loved animals, crafting, sewing, painting ceramics, playing guitar, baking Christmas cookies, fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4-7 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 North Washington Street Tiffin, Ohio 44883 with a memorial service on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., also at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.
