Theodore E. “Ted” Williams, 78, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
Ted was born in Willard, Ohio on October 2, 1947 to the late Howard T. and Audrey (Fortney) Williams Meridith. He married Kathleen (Senn) in Attica, on January 4, 1969 and she survives in Bellevue.
Ted is survived by his children Jay Williams of Anna, OH, Jackie Williams of Sandusky, OH, Jeffrey (Christina) Williams of Middletown, PA, ten grandchildren, Jenea (John) Brown, Tyler (Nichole) Williams, Jalicia (Haidar) Bin Hamid, Marissa (Byron) Pontious, Aaleyiah Williams, Alexis Williams, Madison Yohe, Cody, Abigail and Cameron Wildasin, four great-grandchildren, Luella Williams, Haizel and Rinn Pontious, Magnolia Williams and a brother Steven (Julie) Williams of Tiffin.
Ted graduated from Attica High School in 1966 then served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Biddle as a BT2 during the Vietnam conflict until 1970. He was a life member of Tiffin Amvets Post OH48, Tiffin VFW Post 2858 and former member and Commander of Attica American Legion Post 260 and also the Pioneer, OH VFW Post 8628.
After leaving the Navy Ted worked at North Central Electric in the early 1970’s. He later moved to Pioneer, OH where he was Utilities Superintendent from 1978 until his retirement in 2004. Ted also spent 23 years singing barbershop with Hillsdale (Michigan) Town & Country Chorus, and Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus. He was also the Bass singer with quartets Border Boyz, Heart & Soul and Recycled. Ted also coached Little League, Pony League and Acme League baseball in Pioneer for many years.
At the time of Ted's passing he was surrounded by ALL of his immediate family. He is quoted as saying “My idea of perfect happiness is having my family together with me”.
Graveside services for Ted will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Attica Venice cemetery with Military Rites being rendered. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
