Wayne L. Moore, 91, of Tiffin, passed away at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his residence.
Wayne was born in Tiffin, on September 15, 1929, to the late Herbert and Hazel (Sours) Moore. Seventy years ago Wayne married Joan (Miletti) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin on October 11, 1950 and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include his daughters, Diane (Rock) Scheiber of Tiffin, Maryanne (Mick) Moore-Heilman of Berwick, Susan (Guy) Flechtner of Tiffin, Amy (Tim) Shetterly of Tiffin, Lee Ann (Tony) Anese of Republic, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and a brother, Bill Moore of Urbana.
Wayne purchased the Miletti's Shoe & Lab from Joan's parents, Michael (Alphonsine) Miletti in 1962 and ran the store until selling it his grandson in 1998. Wayne was a Licensed Board Certified Pedorthist and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was active for many years. Wayne was an avid golfer and a member of Mohawk golf and country club. In his younger years he was good enough to play Professional Golf but always told his wife and children that his family was to important to him so he never furthered a career in golf. Wayne was a 1947 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and also was a United States Army Veteran who served at Fort Knox, KY, On the Battle in doctrination course during Korea.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gene Moore and a sister, Clara Runion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. The Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass. There will be a private family visitation held. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery with Military Rites being rendered by the United Veterans Council. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
